S&O Expands Its Civil Litigation and Administrative Law Practices

Schertler & Onorato is pleased to announce the addition of attorneys Shermineh C. Jones and Joseph A. Gonzalez, both experienced civil litigators who most recently served with distinction in the Civil Litigation Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.  Ms. Jones joins S&O as Of Counsel and brings to the firm extensive background and trial experience in federal and local civil litigation involving a wide range of substantive matters, including the federal employment statutes (such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act), business disputes, and class actions.  Ms. Jones also has broad experience in administrative matters before District of Columbia agencies, including the D.C. Office of Employee Appeals, the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings, and the D.C. Office of Human Rights.  Mr. Gonzalez joins S&O as a Senior Associate with extensive civil litigation experience that includes first-chair roles in civil jury and bench trials in the federal and local courts and principal responsibility for all aspects of civil pre-trial litigation, including depositions, mediations, and motions practice.  Together with S&O partners Robert Spagnoletti and David Dickieson, Ms. Jones and Mr. Gonzalez will lead the firm’s civil litigation and administrative law practices with seasoned experience, judgment, and trial skills.
