The 2021 edition of U.S. News – Best Lawyers ® “Best Law Firms” has awarded Schertler Onorato Mead & Sears’s white-collar criminal defense practice a Tier 1 ranking in Washington, D.C. and a Tier 2 national ranking. SOM&S also received metropolitan rankings for its general criminal defense practice (Tier 1), bet-the-company litigation (Tier 2), and commercial litigation (Tier 3). The “Best Law Firms” list is a joint undertaking of U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers. For the 2021 publication, 15,587 law firms throughout the United States were reviewed, and 2,179 firms received a national ranking. As the U.S. News/Best Law Firms press release states: “Firms that received a tier designation reflect the highest level of respect a firm can earn among other leading lawyers and clients from the same communities and practice areas.”
