SDNY Acquittals in Forex Price Fixing Prosecution Nominated for Most Important Court Case of the Year by Global Investigations Review

AUGUST 2019

Global Investigations Review (GIR) has announced its nominees for the Most Important Court Case of the Year.  The nominees include United States v. Usher, et al., 17-CR-00019, in which Schertler & Onorato’s client, Christopher Ashton, and two codefendants were acquitted of manipulating prices in the euro-to-dollar foreign exchange market through an online chatroom.  S&O Partner David Schertler led Mr. Ashton’s trial team with assistance from S&O Partner Lisa Manning.  The October 2018 acquittals followed a two-week jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan).
