Before joining the firm, Mark served for nearly 30 years in the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division at the United States Department of Justice where he developed a reputation as a meticulous and creative investigator, an exceptional trial attorney, and a fierce defender of civil rights. Mark brings to the firm deep expertise in First Amendment jurisprudence, election crimes, and constitutional protections against law enforcement abuse. His extensive legacy at the Department of Justice includes spearheading the largest-ever prosecutions of federal prison guards and county jail officials for civil rights violations and developing the Department’s specialized hate crimes task force and election threats task force. Mark expands the firm’s deep bench of seasoned trial attorneys.
