S&O Obtains “Actual Innocence” Finding in D.C. Superior Court


DECEMBER 2015

Lisa Schertler, Danny Onorato, and Lisa Manning obtained an “actual innocence” finding in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for a client who had served ten months in jail before his exoneration.  Schertler & Onorato undertook representation of the client post-trial and post-appeal.  On the client’s behalf, the firm filed and litigated a successful Motion for New Trial based on newly-discovered evidence as well as a successful Motion to Seal criminal records based on actual innocence.
