Pamela S. Satterfield

Pamela Satterfield, who serves of Counsel at Schertler & Onorato, L.L.P., represents companies and individuals in a wide variety of criminal and civil litigation and internal investigations. With more than twenty years of legal experience before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and federal courts across the country, Ms. Satterfield is a tested trial lawyer and skilled litigator. As the former Chief of Staff to the Attorney General for the District of Columbia she has extensive knowledge of the operations of the District of Columbia government, the Office of the Attorney General, personnel matters, training and general management.

Prior to joining Schertler & Onorato, Ms. Satterfield served as a trial attorney in the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice where she litigated matters involving violations of federal laws in federal courts throughout the United States. Ms. Satterfield also held the position of Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia from 1994 to 2003 where she was deputy chief of the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Section, prosecuting adult criminal cases involving sexual abuse of adults and children, intra–family offenses, and child maltreatment. While in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Satterfield also investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of criminal cases and defended the government in numerous criminal appeals. Ms. Satterfield began her legal career as a tax attorney in the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel where she dealt with matters involving taxation of partnerships, estates and natural resources.

Ms. Satterfield is active in bar activities, serving as a member of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law and the District of Columbia Bar’s Rules and Regulations Committee.

Ms. Satterfield is a member of the District of Columbia bar. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. Ms. Satterfield a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota (B.A., French, 1984) and the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law (J.D. 1989). She lives in the District of Columbia with her husband and two children.
