Lisa Manning is Counsel to Schertler & Onorato LLP. Her practice focuses on criminal defense and expungement law. Ms. Manning represents clients in both federal and state-level cases, ranging from traffic misdemeanors to white collar matters. She also continues to act as Principal of Record Absolutions, a law practice that specializes in the mitigation of criminal records and related legal issues. Ms. Manning founded Record Absolutions in 2009 after having developed an interest in expungement law from work on the implementation of the District of Columbia Record Sealing Act as a Law Clerk for the Public Defender Service. She has since gained further expertise in this area through her academic writings, advocacy for federal expungement law and by assisting multiple clients successfully seal their records.
Ms. Manning graduated from Washington & Lee Law School in Virginia, after completing her B.A. in International Relations/Economics at George Washington University. She is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia Bars, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. A D.C. native, Ms. Manning is also active in the community as a board member of the Bar Association of the District Columbia’s Young Lawyers Section, vice-chair of the Cathedral Choirs Alumni Association and volunteer at D.C. Central Kitchen.
