
Lisa Freiman Fishberg
Lisa Freiman Fishberg joined Schertler & Onorato upon her graduation from The George Washington University Law School in 1997. Ms. Fishberg’s practice focuses on civil litigation and domestic relations matters. She also represents clients in a wide range of criminal matters and post-conviction litigation.
Ms. Fishberg has extensive litigation experience, including complex commercial litigation; contract disputes; insurance defense; professional licensing issues; administrative investigations and hearings; civil fraud; civil forfeiture; employment and EEO matters; federal and local tort claims actions; professional malpractice; negligence and personal injury; and defamation and other intentional torts. Ms. Fishberg’s appellate experience includes appearing before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Ms. Fishberg’s family law practice includes cases involving questions of child custody; child and spousal support (alimony); property distribution; pension and retirement issues; military, government, and World Bank family and property issues; international custody matters; and intrafamily offenses including domestic violence and child abuse.
Ms. Fishberg’s pro bono commitments include volunteering at the D.C. Family Court Self-Help Center.
Ms. Fishberg received her J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School in 1997, and her B.A., cum laude, from SUNY Albany in 1994. She is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and New York; and admitted to practice in several federal courts including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and District of Columbia Circuit; and the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia, District of Maryland, and Southern District of New York.
